TAG YOURSELF DONUT MEME

To honor my favorite donut shop that I frequented far too often during my time in Boston, Blackbird Doughnuts, I created the donut meme concept. In my book-binding class, we were tasked with creating an “irregular” book, and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to showcase my illustrations and delve deeper into the idea of creating personalities to represent unique Blackbird Doughnut flavors.

The term “Tag Yourself” was inspired by the popular internet meme trend, which fosters a sense of unity and connection among viewers who relate to shared traits. The book itself is lighthearted, amusing, and relatable, inviting readers to identify with one of the distinct “personalities” featured within. These characters are a blend of internet and movie personality tropes, as well as loosely based individuals from my personal life.
